چکیده

Abstract Reactive power planning (RPP) and voltage stability improvement (VSI) consider two of the most important problems to meet a major challenge system. In this work, multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA) for RPP with objectives cost minimization losses, new reactive (VAR) sources, maximization VSI, enhancement total transfer capacity (TTC) is introduced. Different optimization variables are considered including generator voltages, transformer tap changers besides load, different operational constraints. The best compromise solution determined through fuzzy min–max approach. Comparison studies among capacitor banks, flexible ac transmission systems (FACTS) or both as VAR support sources achieve better performance explored. Moreover, optimal allocations switchable not in advance; instead, they treated control improve techno-economic operation network. Added that many indicators presented, their results compared. effectiveness proposed examined on modified IEEE 30-bus test system South Egypt Electricity network where felicitous have been acquired. expound approach compared other methods.
